SEARCY, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers fell 3-1 to the Harding Bisons on Tuesday, despite winning the first set of the match. The game scores were 25-23, 17-25, 14-25 and 14-25.
 
In the first set, Ouachita (7-5, 2-2 GAC) took an early 10-4 lead. The Bisons eventually tied the set, however, at 22-22. Harding then committed three errors, allowing the Tigers to take the first set.
 
The second set was a back-and-forth contest until a 7-2 run by the Bisons gave Harding a 15-10 lead and forced a Ouachita timeout. Harding went on another 7-2 run later in the set before an attack error by Ouachita gave the Bisons the second set.
 
Harding (6-9, 3-1 GAC) dominated the final two sets, recorded a combined 31 kills and only two attack errors. For the match, Ouachita was held to a .171 attack percentage, while the Bisons maintained a .349 percentage. The Bisons also led with 10 aces and 14 blocks.
 
Abby Pickett led the Tigers with 16 kills in the match, finishing with an attack percentage of .429. Stormi Leonard recorded 38 assists and six digs, while Ashley Wake had a match-high 18 digs. Stephanie Pollnow followed Pickett with 10 kills in the four-set match, and Caitlin Cantrell had seven, four coming in the first set.
 
The Tigers will take the court again on Thursday, Oct. 1, as Ouachita hosts Henderson State. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
