ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' women's soccer team defeated Southern Nazarene at home by a final score of 2-0.
Tessa Woodcock and
Dina Harper had a goal each in the effort. The Tigers' record improved to 6-6 on the season and 6-2 in the Great American Conference.
Tessa Woodcock opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Woodcock headed a pass from
Dina Harper into the back of the net. In the 79th minute, a Ouachita player was fouled in the box and the referee awarded the Tigers with a penalty. Harper slotted home the ensuing penalty in the 81st minute of play. The Tigers held their 2-0 lead for the remainder of the game.
Offensively, Ouachita had 14 shots in the game, six of which were on goal. Harper and
Bryson Thomas led the team with three shots a piece. Defensively, Ouachita goalkeeper
Erin Webster made seven saves and earned her sixth shutout of the season.
The Tigers next game will be played on Oct. 20 against Northwestern Oklahoma State. The game kick off at 6 p.m. in Ava, Okla.
