ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – After dropping the first set, the Ouachita Tigers' volleyball team rallied to win three straight sets to defeat Southeastern Oklahoma State 3-1 (20-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-21). With the win, Ouachita improves to 13-5 overall and 5-3 in the Great American Conference.
Adrianna Nolly led the Tigers with 16 kills and was one of three Tigers to reach double digits in the category.
Trailing 1-0 after the first set, Ouachita found themselves 4-0 in set two. After a timeout, the Tigers cut the Savage Storm lead to one, trailing 4-3. Southeastern held the lead and faced a second Ouachita timeout after increasing their lead to 18-11. Down seven, the Tigers roared back to tie the set with a 9-2 run, sparked by two kills each from
Tabatha Huckabee and
Katie Camp.
Southeastern answered with three straight points to take a 23-20 lead. Kills by Camp and
Ashlie Dintleman tied the set at 23-23.
Kori Bullard's two kills and another by Huckabee completed the comeback for the Tigers, 27-25 to even the match 1-1.
The set two comeback put the momentum in the Tigers favor. Ouachita would take the next two sets to win the match 3-1. Nolly paced the Ouachita attack with 11 kills in sets three and four. Defensively, libero
Ashley Wake notched 30 digs, including 12 in set two and nine in set four.
The Tigers will face East Central in Ada, Okla. tomorrow. The match will begin at 4:00 p.m.
