ARKADELPHIA, Ark –The Ouachita Tigers men's soccer team traveled to Searcy, Ark. and defeated Harding by a final score of 2-0.
Logan Hampton and
Joey Zerbo each scored goals for the Tigers. Ouachita's record now stands at 5-5 on the season and 1-2 in the Great American Conference.
Hampton opened the scoring early for the Tigers, scoring his first goal of the season. Hampton placed the ball in the back of the net after 14 minutes of action. His goal was assisted by
Tinashe Chigede. The Tigers extended their lead in the 51st minute.
Joey Zerbo found the back of the net after a Harding player failed to make a clearance. The Tigers held the 2-0 lead for the remainder of the game.
Ouachita produced seven shots on the night with five of those shots being on goal. Hampton led the Tigers with 3 shots, all of which were on goal. Defensively, goalkeeper
Nelson Pacheco earned the shutout with 4 saves.
The Tigers will play Delta State in their next match on Oct. 7. The game will be played in Cleveland, Miss. and will kick-off at 3 p.m.
