ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –The Ouachita Tigers women's soccer team defeated Harding in Searcy, Ark. by a final score of 1-0.
Kasey Smith scored her first goal of the year while goalkeeper
Erin Webster had seven saves in the game. Ouachita's record now improves to 4-5-1 on the season and 4-1 in the Great American Conference.
Ouachita scored the game-winning goal early in the first half. In the 14th minute,
Tori Stratton played a through ball to
Kasey Smith on the left side of the field. Smith calmly finished the goal with her left foot and gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Ouachita was able to maintain this lead for the remainder of the game.
Smith led the Tigers offensively, with five of the Tiger's 11 shots.
Bryson Thomas also contributed with 4 shots.
Webster performed well at goalkeeper. She made seven saves and held Harding scoreless while facing 21 shots.
Ouachita will look to extend its winning streak on Oct. 6 against East Central. The game will be played in Ada, Oka. and will begin at 2 p.m.
