Lady Tigers lose in Ada

ADA, Okla. – The Ouachita Lady Tigers lost a 76-54 contest to the East Central University Tigers on Saturday, falling to 4-11 in the Great American Conference.
 
Ouachita (7-14, 4-11 GAC) was outscored in all four quarters of the contest, as the Lady Tigers were held to a field-goal percentage of just 34.7 percent. Ouachita also converted just 6-24 three-pointers. East Central (8-11, 8-7 GAC) netted 41 percent of its field goals and 19-20 from the free-throw line.
 
East Central grabbed 16 offensive rebounds in the win, outscoring the Lady Tigers 20-5 on second-chance points. ECU also forced 15 Ouachita turnovers, resulting in 20 points for the Tigers. Ouachita did outscore East Central 20-18 in points in the paint through three quarters, but East Central outscored Ouachita 8-0 inside in the final period.
 
Breanna Harris scored a game-high nine points in the first half, and Kori Bullard recorded a team-high five rebounds. Ouachita allowed 12 offensive rebounds in the first half, however, which let East Central take a 25-19 lead at the half.
 
Ouachita pulled within seven points early in the third quarter, but East Central quickly jumped back out to a double-digit lead and never let Ouachita pull within 10 for the rest of the game. Katie Kapler scored 11 points in the second half on 5-5 shooting from the floor, while Harris added five points and five boards.
 
Harris finished the 40-minute game with a team-high 14 points, followed by Kapler with 13. Bullard scored eight points and pulled down a nine rebounds, while Katherine West recorded eight points and four assists.
 
The Lady Tigers will remain on the road for their next contest, as the team travels to Russellville, Ark. on Thursday, Feb. 11, to take on Arkansas Tech. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
