ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers women's volleyball team defeated the Arkansas-Monticello Blossoms by a final of 3-1 to open conference play Tuesday night in Monticello, Ark. The Tigers were led by reigning GAC Offensive Player of the Week Adrianna Nolly's 21 kills and five blocks. Stormi Leonard posted her fifth double-double of the season with 49 assists and 15 digs. Ashley Wake led Ouachita with 28 digs. 

The Tigers won the first two sets 26-24 and 25-19. The Tigers hit.267 in the first set with Nolly posting four kills and Kori Bullard getting four. Nikki Clay had eight digs in set one. In set two, Bullard and Jayme Shell had six and five kills respectively. The Tigers hit .318 in the second set. Defensively, Wake had 15 digs in the set. 

The Blossoms took set three by a final of 25-22. Despite only hitting .098 in the set and trailing by five, the Tigers closed the UAM lead to 23-21 behind three straight kills from Nolly. Ouachita rolled to a 25-16 win on set four. Nolly posted six kills on seven attacks for a .857 attack percentage. The Tigers hit .310 as a team in the set and hit .237 as a team for the match. 

The Tigers will travel to Searcy, Ark. this weekend for a tri-match tournament at Harding University. Ouachita will face Lyon College and Missouri Southern State on Saturday, Sept. 17.
