ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –The Ouachita Tigers women's soccer team continued its winning ways by defeating Oklahoma Baptist in overtime by a final score of 1-0.
Tessa Woodcock scored the winning goal in the 96th minute. The win propels the Tigers to 2-4-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Great American Conference.
The Tigers had a stellar defensive performance. Goalkeeper
Erin Webster finished with an impressive 10 saves and did not concede any goals. This was the second shutout game for the Tigers.
Ouachita performed well offensively. The Tigers were able to accrue fourteen shots in the game.
Bryson Thomas led the Tigers with four shots, while
Kasey Smith and
Bryson Rial had three each. The Tigers found a breakthrough in the 96th minute when
Tessa Woodcock found the back of the net after receiving a corner-kick from
Dina Harper.
The Tigers will look to continue their winning streak on Sept. 29 against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The game will be played at Kluck Field and will begin at 4 p.m.
