ARKADELPHIA, Ark. –The Ouachita Baptist women's soccer team fell to Southwestern Oklahoma State at home by a final score of 2-1. Sophomore Bryson Thomas scored the Tiger's only goal in the 49th minute. The Tigers record now stands at 2-5-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference.
SWOSU scored the first goal of the match in the 34th minute. Ouachita then answered with a goal of its own shortly after halftime. Bryson Thomas received a through ball from Kasey Smith and buried the ball in the lower-right side of the net.
Ouachita kept the game tied until the 68th minute when Southwestern scored the winning goal. A last-second shot by Thomas with two seconds remaining was deflected by SWOSU's keeper to end the match.
The Tigers played well offensively throughout the game. They accumulated 11 shots, with six of those shots being on goal. Thomas led the Tigers with five shots, four of which were on goal.
Defensively, Erin Webster recorded six saves.
The Tigers will continue conference play on Oct. 1 against Northwestern Oklahoma State. The game will be played at Kluck Field and will kick off at 2 p.m.
