ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Lakee Westbrook knocked down a three from the right wing with 10 seconds to play to give the Ouachita Tigers' men's basketball team a 77-75 win over Harding University on Saturday in Bill Vining Arena. Harding had an opportunity to tie the game by failed to convert two free throw attempts at the end of regulation. Carven Holcolmbe led the Tigers with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
Justin McCleary also scored 18 and three other Tigers finished in double figures.
The Harding Bison jumped on the Tigers early and were up 30-12 with 8:13 remaining the first half. The Tigers chipped away at the Harding lead and after Holcolmbe's put-back off an offensive rebound with 4:35 remaining, the Tigers were only down nine. At the 2:33 mark,
Jontavis Willis knocked down his second consecutive three to cut the Bison lead to three, 37-34. Harding would carry a six-point lead into halftime, up 42-36.
The Tigers turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, holding the Bisons to a 38 percent second-half field goal percentage. Harding shot over 50 percent in the first half.

Lakee Westbrook were hot from deep, combining to make 4-7 three-point attempts in the final period. The Tigers also forced Harding to commit seven second-half turnovers while only committing three. Ouachita trailed by as many as nine in the second half and did not get their first lead until the 5:36 mark. Holcolmbe scored on the inside to put Ouachita up 69-68.
Harding took a 72-71 lead on a three by Zac Ward with just over three minutes to play. The two team swapped free throws until Harding's Tim Wagner scored inside to put Harding back in the lead by one with 1:15 to play. After both teams committed turnovers on consecutive possessions, Ouachita's Westbrook drained a contested three with 10 seconds left, giving the Tigers a 77-75 lead. Harding's Braden Eggleston drove the lane and picked up a foul to go to the line with just under two seconds remaining. After missing the first free throw, Eggleston stepped over the free-throw line before the releasing his second attempt, turning it over to the Tigers. Ouachita ran out the remaining seconds and walked away with the win. The Tigers improved to 7-5 on the season.
