ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Lady Tigers suffered a 90-62 loss versus Southern Nazarene University on Thursday night in Bethany, Okla.
Taylor Bowles led the Lady Tigers with a season-high 16 points followed by
Kori Bullard who scored 13 and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Chasidee Owens scored 10 and pulled down six rebounds.
After trailing 19-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Tigers opened the second quarter with a 13-6 run and pulled within one point after a
Chasidee Owens lay-up with 5:55 remaining in the half. However, Ouachita was unable to pull even and take the lead.
Taylor Bowles led the Lady Tigers in scoring int he first half with eight points, all coming in the second quarter. Heading into halftime, Ouachita trailed Southern Nazarene, 44-37.
Neither team shot well in the second half, however Southern Nazarene controlled the glass and converted 14 second-half offensive rebounds into 15 points. For the game, Southern Nazarene out-rebounded the Lady Tigers 70-36. Southern Nazarene outscored Ouachita 28-9 in the third quarter to build a 72-46 lead. Bowles scored six of her eight second-half points in the fourth quarter. The Lady Tigers dropped to 7-11 overall and 4-8 in conference play by a final score of 90-62.
The Lady Tigers will face Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday, Jan. 28. Tip-off in Shawnee, Okla. is set for 1:00 p.m.
