ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Lady Tigers defeated the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State by a final of 101-92 Thursday night in Bill Vining Arena. It marks the first time the Lady Tigers have scored 100 points or more in a game since Nov. 2009, when they beat Philander Smith 100-70. Ouachita's Alivia Huell led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds, earning her second double-double fo the year. Madison Brittain scored 18 and Shakyla Begnaud scored 17. The win improves the Lady Tigers to 6-5 on the season and 3-2 in GAC play. 

The L:ady Tigers outscored the Rangers in three of the four quarters. Five Lady Tigers scored in double figures. Bria Caldwell scored 13 points and Katie Kapler added 10 after going a perfect 4-4 from the floor and 2-2 from the free throw line. The Lady Tigers made 22 of 29 free throw attempts while Northwestern Oklahoma went 10-17 from the charity stripe. Ouachita also had a significant advantage on the glass, out rebounding the Rangers 49 to 35.

The Lady Tigers held a four point lead going into the fourth quarter. Northwestern Oklahoma closed the gap to within one with 5:47 left to play. Huell scored seven of the Lady Tigers next eight points, sparking an 8-2 run. Begnaud put Ouachita over the century mark after making a layup and the ensuing free throw shot after a NWOSU foul. Up 101-89, the Lady Tigers would close out the game allowing only one more made basket in the final minute.

The Lady Tigers return to action at Bill Vining arena on Saturday, Nov. 7 versus Southwestern Oklahoma State. Tip off is set for 1:00 p.m.
