ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Lady Tigers defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State by a final of 114-79 to earn their fourth-straight win and improve to 7-0 at home this season.
Kori Bullard went 6-7 from behind the three-point line and 11-14 from the floor to finish with a career-high 28 points.
Madison Brittain scored 19 after going 8-14 from the floor and
Alivia Huell and
Chasidee Owens each scored 14. The 114 points were the most scored by a Lady Tiger team under head coach
Garry Crowder.
The Lady Tigers scored 60 points in the first half while shooting 52 percent from the floor and making nine of 18 three-point attempts. Trailing 26-25 heading into the second quarter, the Lady Tigers opened with a 10-2 run to take a 35-28 lead. They would take an 18-point lead into halftime after outscoring Southwestern Oklahoma 35-16. Bullard and Brittain each scored 14 in the first half.Â
The Lady Tigers hot shooting carried over into the second half, shooting 60 percent in the final two quarters. Bullard dropped in another 14 points in the second half.
Morgan Miller provided quality minutes off the bench in the second half. She finished the game with nine points, all coming in the second half, and a team-high eight rebounds. In the game, Ouachita scored 26 points off of Southwestern's 21 turnovers. The Lady Tigers also held the advantage on the glass, pulling down 45 rebounds to Southwestern's 34.
The victory improved Ouachita's overall record to 7-5 and moved them into a tie for third with Southwestern in the Great American Conference standings at 4-2. Â Â Â
