ARKADEPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' softball team fell to Wayne State in its third game of the UAM 8-State Classic by a final score of 2-1. The loss drops the Tigers' record to 6-3 on the season.
Macy Nantz was the starting pitcher for the Tigers. Nantz pitched three scoreless innings before she was replaced by Marrissa Butler. Wayne State scored both of its runs on Butler and she was handed the loss.
Ouachita's sole run was scored in the seventh inning when
Halley Ryburn hit a solo home run. The Tigers were unable to drive in any more runs in the inning, however, and were handed the 2-1 loss.
Ouachita continues play in the 8-State Classic for the remained of the weekend.
