ARKADEPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers split their first two games of the UAM 8-State Classic on Friday.
In the first game, the Tigers lost to Southwest Baptist by a final score of 2-0. The Tigers won the second game of the day against Upper Iowa by a final score of 2-1. After the day's games, the Tigers' overall record stood at 6-2.
Macy Nantz was the starting pitcher in the first game and pitched a complete game. Nantz only allowed two runs, but the Tigers were unable to score any runs of their own to give Nantz the win. Southwest Baptist's runs were scored in the third and sixth innings, respectively.
The second game of the day did go in the Tigers' favor. Kesley O'Brien put in a solid performance from the mound, pitching a complete game and only allowing one run.

Macy Nantz, both seniors, hit solo-home runs which gave the Tigers a 2-1 victory.
Ouachita will continue play in the 8-State classic for the remainder of the weekend.
