ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Lady Tigers lost to Harding University in Searcy, Ark. on Thursday night by a final of 85-54. The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 9-13 overall and 6-10 in Great American Conference play.
Madison Brittain was the high scorer for Ouachita with 16 points. Chasidee Owens followed with 11 points while
Taylor Bowles finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Ouachita found themselves down early in the first quarter, trailing 8-0 when
Kori Bullard made the first shot of the game for the Lady Tigers. A three by Brittain nearly three and a half minutes later found Ouachita down 20-5 with 3:41 to play. The Lady Tigers 31-9 at the end of the first quarter. After scoring 16 points in the second quarter, the Lady Tigers were down 48-25 at halftime. Bullard led the Lady Tigers with eight first-half points, followed by Owens with six.
The Lady Tigers were unable to close the gap in the second half. In the second half, Brittain scored 12 of her team-high 16 points.
The Lady Tigers return to Bill Vining Arena this Saturday. They'll host the Golden Suns of Arkansas Tech with a tipoff set for 1:00 p.m.
