ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' wrestling teamed defeated Drury University by a final of 30-18 on Thursday night in front of a packed house at the Hatcher Wrestling Complex.
Blake Clevenger and
Kaleb Rippy picked up wins by fall for the Tigers and
Jerhett Lee won a decisive decision victory at the heavyweight class to lock up the Tigers' victory. Ouachita heads into this Sunday's Lombardi duals with a two-dual win streak.
Drury took an early 3-0 lead with an 8-6 decision win at 141 lbs. Clevenger picked up his win-by-fall victory at the 4:50 mark in his match, putting Ouachita up 6-3. The Tigers lost the 157 lb match by forfeit by picked up nine more points with the pin by Rippy and a dominant 11-5 decision win for
Tyler Mann. Drury took the 184 lb. match with a win by fall and followed it up with an 11-4 decision win at 197. Heading into the 285-lb match, Ouachita trailed 18-15.
Ouachita's
Jerhett Lee took early control of the heavyweight match with a first-round take down. With the match tied 2-2 heading into the third period, Lee scored an escape point and was rewarded one point for riding time, taking the match by a 4-2 decision win. The Tigers took the next two matches by forfeit to earn the win by a final of 30-18.
