ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team took game one of a double header with East Central University in Ada, Okla. on Saturday by a final of 18-7. Despite losing game two to ECU, 9-2, Ouachita (7-19, 5-10) took the series 2-1.
Aaron Studdard hit a pair of home runs in game one, driving in three.
Jackson Noakes collected four hits on the day and drove in four runs.
Adam Bahloul picked up the win for Ouachita in game one.
In game one, Noakes put Ouachita up 1-0 with a RBI single to score
Preston Speers. Ouachita tacked on two more in the third. East Central scored two runs in the bottom of the third, cutting Ouachita's lead to one. Noakes,
Justin Weigle and Jakahari Howell each drove in two runs in the top of the fourth, putting Ouachita up 9-2. Studdard homered in the sixth and ninth innings. Ouachita scored two runs in the sixth, four in the eighth and three more in the ninth. Eight of the starting nine in the batting order scored at least one run and collected at least one RBI in the game.
In game two,
Garrett Smith and
Kord Offenbacker drove in the Tigers' only runs. Offenbacker collected a sacrifice fly RBI in the top of the second inning, pulling the Tigers back to within one of ECU. Down 6-1 in the fifth, Smith singled home
Ryan Hammer, who collected four hits on the day and scored twice. The Tigers fell in game two by a final of 9-2.
