ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' softball team snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 7-3 win over East Central University (17-11, 8-8) on Saturday at Sully Anderson Field. After being narrowly defeated in game one, 5-4, Ouachita responded with a seven-run bottom of the fifth in game two to get the win and improve to 11-17 overall and 5-11 in in conference play. Macy Nantz drove in five with a pair of home runs on the day. Marissa Butler earned her fourth win of the season, striking out five.

Ouachita jumped out to a 2-0 lead in  the bottom of the first inning of game one. Sarah Johnson singled to start the inning and scored on two-run homer by Macy Nantz. The score remained unchanged until the top of the fifth inning when East Central scored five runs to take a three-run lead. A bases-loaded single by Kelly Powell in the bottom of the sixth cut the ECU lead to two. The Tigers entered the bottom of the seventh down 5-3.
