ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' softball team (12-18, 6-12 GAC) split a doubleheader Saturday against Southeastern Oklahoma (13-13, 7-9 GAC). The Tigers won the first game by a score of 5-3 and lost the second game by a score of 3-4.
Daniella Brantley led the Tigers from the plate with four RBI's and a home run. Kelsey O'Brien was the winning pitcher in the first game, pitching a complete game and striking out six batters. Marissa Butler was the starting pitcher in the second game.
The Tigers opened the scoring on the day with four runs in the fourth inning of the first game. Haley Ryburn hit a two RBI double, followed by a two RBI double from Daniella Brantley. The Tigers withstood late runs in the fifth and sixth innings to win the game by a final score of 5-3.
The second game did not go as well for the Tigers. The Tigers led 3-1 in the fifth inning after a two-run home run from Brantley. A walk-off double from Southeastern in the bottom of the seventh inning saw them win the game by a final score of 4-3.
The Tigers will finish the series in Durant, Okla., tomorrow, Mar. 26, with games at 10 a.m. and noon.
