ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team (10-20, 7-11 GAC) won both games in a doubleheader Saturday over Southeastern Oklahoma (6-19-1, 5-11 GAC) by scores of 11-5 and 7-5.
Preston Speers led the Tigers from the plate with a walk-off home run and four RBI's on the day. Brian Krikorian and Sheldon McCown were awarded wins on the day as relief pitchers.
The first game was a back-and-forth affair for the first four innings until Ouachita took a 10-5 lead. Southeastern battled back to tie the game at 10 in the ninth inning, but Preston Speers hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the inning to win the game.
The Tigers rode a big fourth inning to a victory in the second game. The inning featured RBI's from Speers, Garrett Smith, and Kord Offenbacker to give the team a 4-2 lead. After Southeastern regained the lead, JD Speed hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 6-5 in advantage of Ouachita. The Tigers finished the game with a 7-5 victory.
The Tigers next game is at home against Texas A&M-Texarkana on Tuesday, Mar. 28 at 2 p.m.
