ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team (10-21, 7-11 GAC) lost a non-conference game Tuesday against Texas A&M-Texarkana (18-15) by a final score of 4-5.
The deciding run came in the ninth inning when Cameron Frost hit an RBI triple to give the Eagles a lead. The game had been tied since the fifth inning at that point. Relief pitcher
Jayme Lovelace was given the loss for the game, as he entered the game when the score was tied. Lovelace pitched for four innings and only allowed one run.
Ty Owens opened scoring for the Tigers in the second inning with a two-RBI single. A&M-Texarkana responded in the fourth inning with four runs of their own to give themselves a 4-2 lead. Ouachita scored two runs in the fourth inning off of RBI's from
Justin Weigle and
Preston Speers. The game remained tied until A&M-Texarkana scored the winning run in the ninth inning.
The Tigers will resume conference play this weekend with a home series against Southern Arkansas. The first game will be played on Friday, Mar. 31 at 2 p.m.
