ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers' baseball team (13-29) lost a non-conference game at home against Harding (17-24) in extra innings by a final score of 7-6.
Ouachita took at 3-0 at the end of the second inning after
Aaron Studdard,
Jakahari Howell, and
Justin Weigle all picked up RBI. Harding responded in the third and fifth innings to tie the game at three, but
Jakahari Howell hit a solo-home run in the sixth inning to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead. After back-and-forth action in the seventh saw the Tigers take a 6-5 lead, the Harding right fielder hit an RBI-single to tie the game at 6. In the 10th inning, Harding's shortstop hit an RBI-double to give the Bison a lead and the game.
Kason Kimbrell started the game pitching for the Tigers. Kimbrell pitched for five innings and struck out four batters.
Hunter McDade pitched for the Tigers in the 10th inning and consequently was given the loss for the game.
The Tigers will play next in a weekend conference series against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Play will begin in Weatherford, Okla., on Friday, April 21 at 2 p.m.
