ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist (9-5, 2-1 GAC) dropped its first conference match of the season Thursday night as the Tigers hosted No. 24 Arkansas Tech (16-0, 3-0 GAC). Ouachita hung tight with the Golden Suns, but lost the match in three sets – 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.
Stormi Leonard led the way for the Tigers, closing out the match with 30 assists and 12 digs.
Paige Williams and
Katie Camp finished with 10 and nine kills, respectively, while teammate
Kori Bullard picked up seven kills and an ace.
As a team, Ouachita held to a .150 hitting percentage and 34 kills. Arkansas Tech closed out with a .227 hitting percentage and 44 kills.
The Tigers will look to rebound as the team travels to Harding next week. Ouachita will face the Bisons on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. in Searcy, Arkansas.
