RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Earlier today the Great American Conference announced that Ouachita defensive back
Keandre Evans had been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.
Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.) had a career day for the Tigers, recording 10 tackles, 2 pass break ups and two interceptions. On one of the interceptions the Natural State native took the ball the length of the football field to secure a 24-7 win over Arkansas Tech.
The 103-yard interception return gained national attention over the weekend as it appeared on numerous national television stations including: ESPN SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt, ESPN College Football Final and NBC's Sunday Night Football.
Evans joins fellow defensive back
Airric Parker (San Diego, Calif.) as the only other Ouachita player to have earned GAC Player of the Week honors.
