ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – In three swim meets this past weekend the Ouachita men's swimming and diving team went 1-2 against Hendrix College, Texas-Permian Basin and Oklahoma City University.

On Friday evening the men's team defeated Hendrix College 134-79. The Ouachita relay teams took first, second and fourth place in the 200-yard medley relay to begin the event. The team of
Jacob Evans,
Nolan Gerfers,
Sebastian Bustillo and
Vaughn Stresow defeated the Ouachita team of
Alexander Podguzov,
Brandon Parramore,
Noah Day and
Eddie Pimentel by seven one-hundredths of a second.
Tray Armstrong blew away the competition in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 10:43.56.
Peyton Stone came in second giving the Tigers a one-two finish in the event. Ouachita had three swimmers finish in the top-five of the 200-yard freestyle with Evans leading the way with a time of 1:55.14.
In the 50-yard freestyle Stresow won the event for the Tigers with a time of 22.46 seconds. Nathan Wueller came in fourth and
Thomas Huenefeld finished in sixth place for the Tigers. Parramore won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:02.38, while
Jack Conner and Gerfers finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Ouachita had a trio of swimmers finish inside the top-five of the 100-yard freestyle event. Bustillo and Wuellner finished in first and second place, while Pimentel collected a fourth place finish. Day and
Mason Youngblood finished in the top two positions of the 100-yard backstroke.
Lucas Riley and
Chris Harrison joined their teammates with a fifth and sixth place finish in the competition.
Tray Armstrong won the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:04.83. Ten seconds later and Podguzov joined his teammate with a second place finish, Huenefeld finished the event in fifth place. The top two Ouachita relay teams finished off the night in style. The two squads finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The next morning the Tiger swimmers did not get off to the start they were hoping for. The 400-yard medley relay teams finished in third, seventh and eighth place to begin the tri-meet with Texas-Permian Basin and Oklahoma City University.
Armstrong finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, while Pimentel and Daugherty finished the event in seventh and eighth place respectively. Bustillo had a top-five finish for the men in the 200-yard freestyle while
Alex Noel and Podguzov finished the race in seventh and ninth place.
Parramore was the only male swimmer to finish inside the top-five of the men's 400-yard individual medley. The senior finished with a time of 4:27.51 in the event. The Tigers finished the morning with a fourth place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
