ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita men's tennis team defeated Texas A&M Texarkana 7-2 on Sunday morning, the women's tennis team fell by the same score to Texarkana.

"I could not be more proud of our team." Ouachita men's tennis coach Craig Ward said, "They really focused on today's match. Texarkana has a great team and is developing a reputation as one of the better NAIA teams in this region."

The Tigers started out the match by sweeping the Eagles in doubles play. The number one tandem of Lennart Lonneman and Juan Moncada defeated Cole Guy and Alejandro Oviedo 8-5.

The number two doubles team of Braydon Montgomery and Carlos Solorazano defeated the tandem of Sammy Hogan and Kevin Tsati 8-5 to pick up the second point of the day for the Tigers. The final doubles team of Nair Adi and Dan Kaplan defeated Gavin Beach and Alberto Cabrillo 8-2.

The Tigers carried the momentum over from doubles play into singles play. Ouachita's number one singles player Moncada defeated Guy in straight sets 7-5, 6-4. Lonneman picked up a crucial point for the Tigers at the number two singles position. Lonneman defeated Oviedo in come from behind fashion 2-6, 7-6, and 10-4.

Ouachita also picked up straight set victories at the number three and number four singles positions. The Tigers made Texarkana work for their only two points of the match. The Eagles picked up three set victories at the number 5 and number 6 singles positions.

Women's Tennis Results: Ouachita 2, Texas A&M Texarkana 7
The Tiger tennis team started out great with a win at number one doubles. The tandem of Mallory Tabler and Kendra Dinsmore defeated the team of Daejia Lynch and Kayl Douglas 8-4.

Texarkana then won the remaining two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead going into singles play.

Tabler picked up a victory at number one singles to tie the match at 2-2. Tabler defeated Lynch in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

The Eagles then swept the Tigers in the final five singles matches to take the victory over Ouachita on Sunday afternoon.

The women's team will be back in action on Saturday against Southern Nazarene at 10 a.m. The men will be back in action on March 16^th against Northwest Missouri State.
