ADA, Okla. – Lady Tigers fight a good fight against ECU put run out of steam in the fourth quarter losing 78-55.
Rylee Lavender for the second game in a row led the Lady Tigers in Scoring today with 14.
Alivia Huell put in 13 points and eight rebounds, and
Madison Brittain recorded 10 points all in the first half.
Ouachita came out in the first quarter and took the quick 4-0 lead with baskets by
Eden Crow and
Alivia Huell. The Lady Tigers fell behind 10-6 before
Rylee Lavender and
Madison Brittain went on a 9-0 run of their own. ECU would make a free throw before the end of the quarter, but after one the Lady Tigers possessed a 15-11 lead.
In the second the Lady Tigers allowed the opponents to go on a 5-0 run and retake the lead. However, free throws from
Alivia Huell and a layup by
Jakyya Clay put Ouachita back on top. The game then went back and forth as each team continuously made baskets.
Rylee Lavender made two free throws to give the Tigers the lead at 25-24 with 4:45 left in the half. ECU went on another run but two free throws from
Alivia Huell cut the lead to three and allowd the Lady Tigers to only trail 34-31 at the half.
After the break the Lady Tigers came out hot as they hit their first three shots to take a one point lead following a
Madison Raney three pointer. ECU would go up by five before a layup by
Alivia Huell and a three pointer from
Rylee Lavender tied the game at 43. Ouachita would allow a 8-3 run to close out the quarter and go down by five entering the fourth.
In the fourth things got out of hand as the Lady Tigers continued to fight even though ECU would go on a 12-0 run.
Rylee Lavender was fouled on a three point attempt and made all of the free throws to cut the lead to 14 which is the closest the Tigers would get to ECU. They would fall with a final of 78-55.
