BETHANY, Okla. –
Alivia Huell's steady night thwarted by Southern Nazarene's big first quarter.
Huell led the Lady Tigers with 18 points and seven rebounds in the 74-55 loss to Southern Nazarene University.
Madison Raney added 10 points and four rebounds while
Madison Brittain and
Eden Crow both scored nine.
The Tigers fell behind early allowing the Crimson Storm to take a 25-6 lead in the first quarter. However, the Lady Tigers did not cowar away from the challenge as
Eden Crow scored the last five points of quarter one.
Ouachita showed its grit in the second quarter going on a 9-2 run to cut the Southern Nazarene lead to 47-30 at the break.
Alivia Huell had 10 points at the intermission leading the Tigers on the potential comeback.
In the third the Lady Tigers continued to attack the lead cutting it down to eight at 56-48 on a
Madison Brittain three pointer. However, in the fourth quarter the Tigers lost steam and fell to the Crimson Storm in the first game of the new year.
The Lady Tigers return to action on Saturday January 5 against Oklahoma Baptist at 1 pm.
