ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Coach
Craig Ward and Ouachita Tiger's Men's Tennis open up their regular season with a 8-1 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Junior
Juan Moncada got the nod in the Singles one spot for the Tigers and did not disappoint. In the first set he had a neck and neck match with Texarkana's Cole Guy, but pulled out the 7-6 victory. In the second set he secured the match win with a 6-3 deciding score against Guy.
Freshman
Francisco Oliveira was in the two spot for Ouachita. Oliveira dropped the first set 4-6, but he battled back hard capturing a 6-4 victory. The match went to a third set tie break when Oliveira fell to Texarkana's Alejandro Oviedo 0-1.
Freshman
Santiago Kearney and Junior Dan Kaplan filled the three and four holes for the Tigers. They both cruised to victories with Kearney putting in a 6-2,6-3 match and Kaplan securing a 6-1,6-2 victory.

Nair Adi and Freshman
Tobias Fuerschuss closed out the singles lineup for Ouachita. Both were victorious in their bouts as Adi picked up a 6-2,6-4 win and Fuerschuss earned his first career Tiger victory 6-3,6-3.
In the doubles matchups the Tigers won all three battles. First
Juan Moncada and
Francisco Oliveira defeated the Texarkana number one team with a score of 6-4. Dan Kaplan and
Santiago Kearney won 7-6 over their opponents while
Nair Adi and
Tobias Fuerschuss brought in the 6-4 victory.
The Tigers will return to action on Friday February 8 in Midlothian, Texas against St. Edwards University at 1:00 PM.
