WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Consistent hitting and a three hit, complete game by
Brandon Matros lifts the Ouachita Tiger's Baseball team over Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Cade McBride started the Tigers off quickly as he had two runs batted in across the first three innings.
Tyler Riebock closed out the game for Ouachita as he would blast his conference leading ninth homerun.
The Tigers would start the first inning with two singles and walk to load the bases.
Cade McBride would drive in
Aaron Studdard on a sacrifice fly to the center fielder. In the bottom half of the inning Matros would give up one of his only hits of the game, but he would shut the door on the Bulldogs with a strikeout to end the inning. Nothing would happen for either team in the bottom of the second.
Logan Huneycutt would start off the third inning with a single up the middle, and
Tyler Riebock would reach on an error sending
Cade McBride to the plate. McBride would step up again as he would blast a double scoring Huneycutt from second. In the fourth inning both pitchers would pitch well as neither team would score.
In the bottom of the fifth after two strikeouts the Bulldogs would score on a hit by batter and an error. However, in the top of the sixth the Tigers would respond as
Louis Steen would double to lead off the inning and
Ben Swanger hit him in on a sacrifice fly. In the top of the seveth the Tigers would put it out of reach as
Logan Huneycutt would single and
Tyler Riebock would hit a homerun.
Brandon Matros would complete his three hit complete game as he would not allow a hit for the last three innings. The Tigers return to action tomorrow with a double header starting at noon.
