ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Tiger Baseball battles hard against Northwestern Oklahoma State but drops the series finale 4-1.
Louis Steen led the Tigers going 2-3 on the day with two singles.
Pierce Mitchum drove in the Tigers run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Bo Sutton started on the mound for the Tigers and received help from a highlight reel catch and double play at first by
Pierce Mitchum. The Tigers in the bottom half of the first could not get anything going. The Tigers would go down by two after a double by the Rangers would drive in two runs.
The Tigers would get their first hit of the game in the fourth inning as
Tyler Riebock would beat out a ground ball to the shortstop.
Louis Steen would then walk and put a runner in scoring position, but the Tigers could not get a run across the plate.
Carter Wade would take over for
Bo Sutton in the fifth inning and would pitch 4.2 innings only allowing one hit and two runs. In the bottom of the seventh the Tigers would get a leadoff single by
Chris Willard. He would score on a sacrifice fly from
Pierce Mitchum two batters later.
In the bottom of the eighth the Tigers would attempt to come back as
Tyler Riebock would single with two outs.
Louis Steen would follow that with a hit to put runners on first and second with two outs. The Tigers would go down swinging and head into the ninth inning down 2-1.
In the top of the ninth the Rangers would get two more runs. The Tigers could not get any runners on in the bottom of the ninth and would drop the game.
Ouachita returns to action at Rab Rodgers Field on Tuesday March 26 against Ecclesia College at 2 PM.
