Tiger's Take Down Royals of Ecclesia

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baseball sweep double header against Ecclesia College on the backs of good pitching and timely at bats.

Cade McBride led the Tigers on the day going 3-5 with three runs batted in and scoring twice himself. Noah Fowler and Tommy Foster had good days starting both going four innings and not allowing a single run. Tyler Duck and Luke Scaggs both made stellar appearances in relief shutting the door on the Royals.

In the first game the scoring was slim for the Tigers as they only put two runs across the board. However, the pitching held strong as Noah Fowler and Luke Scaggs combined for the shutout of Ecclesia.

The Tigers would score their first run in the bottom of the fourth as Cade McBride would lead the innings off with a single up the middle. Chris Willard would use a sacrifice bunt to move McBride to second. Hunter Gautreaux would ground out setting up McBride to score on a wild pitch.

The very next innings Aaron Studdard would lead off blasting a double to left field. He would then advance to third on a passed ball before scoring on a passed ball while Tyler Riebock was up to bat. Luke Scaggs would pick up his second save of the year only allowing a hit in his 2.2 innings of work.

In the second game the Tigers used the Royal's errors and walks to their advantage. The Tigers only had five hits on the day, but they would score 10 runs. Jacob Crumpler would get the start in right field and have a great day. He would go 2-3 with three runs batted in along with scoring once himself.

The Tigers would score all of their runs in two innings. To start the bottom of the third Chris Willard would reach first on an error by the short stop and then steal second. Ben Swanger would advance Willard to third on a ground out. Jacob Crumpler would beat out a bunt single to score Willard giving the Tigers their first lead. Aaron Studdard would double to left field and Logan Huneycutt would walk to load the bases. Tyler Riebock would use an error by the right fielder and Louis Steen would be hit by a pitch to score two more. Cade McBride would double down the left field line to clear the bases and give the Tigers a 6-0 lead.
