ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baseball puts up 10 runs across two games, but they cannot secure a victory dropping the double header to Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Aaron Studdard went 4-6 on the day as he scored three runs in the process.
Bo Sutton went 4-8 as he drove in two runners in the first game and scored both runs in the second game.
In the first game the Tigers would strike first as
Louis Steen would drive in
Logan Huneycutt during the first inning. The Rangers would respond and build a 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning. In the half inning
Louis Steen would send a sacrifice fly to centerfield scoring
Aaron Studdard cutting the lead to 4-2.
The Tigers would enter the bottom of the fifth down 5-2 but would respond to the challenge set by the Rangers.
Aaron Studdard would start off the inning by singling and would be followed by a
Logan Huneycutt double.
Tyler Riebock would drive both in on a double down the right field line putting the score at 5-4.
The Tigers would see Northwestern Oklahoma State build a 9-4 lead before responding in the bottom of the seventh. After two consecutive walks, Logan Honeycutt would hit into a fielder's choice scoring
Pierce Mitchum. After a single by
Tyler Riebock,
Logan Huneycutt would score on a passed ball to make the score 9-6.
Noah Fowler would pitch the last 2.1 innings not allowing a hit and striking out three of the seven batters he faced.
In the bottom of the ninth the Tigers would mount their comeback.
Aaron Studdard would start the inning with a single to left center field. After two outs,
Louis Steen would battle until he would single down the third base line.
Cade McBride would reach first off of an error loading the bases for
Bo Sutton. Sutton would drive a single to center field plating two, but the Tigers could not put any more runs across dropping the game 9-8.
In the second game the Tigers would see the Rangers plate two in the second inning. Ouachita would respond as
Bo Sutton would hit a two out double and would be drive home by
Chris Willard on a single. The Tigers would score again in the sixth inning as Collin McWhorter would get his first career hit and RBI driving in
Bo Sutton. That would be the only runs for the Tigers as they would drop the game 8-2.
