ALVA, Okla. – Tiger Softball uses huge seventh innings to sweep the double header against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Macy Wilson would drive in both of the winning runs in each game as she would single in a run in the first game and would score
Brooke Taylor in the second.
Marissa Butler would pick up her fifth consecutive win as she struck out 10 in her complete game. In the second game
Mabry Smith would come in relief and pitch 3.2 innings only allowing one hit.
In the first game
Macy Wilson would help the Tigers capture the lead as she would hit a homerun scoring
Kyndal Moyer in the process. The Tigers would allow the Rangers to comeback as they would take a 4-2 lead going into the seventh inning.
Kelsey O'Brien started the inning off reaching on an error by the first baseman, and
Callie Jourdan would reach on a walk.
Natalie Jackson would then double scoring a O'Brien from second.
Kyndal Moyer would hit a fly ball to center field scoring Jourdan from third.
Macy Wilson would put the Tigers up 5-4 on a single to left field. In the bottom of the seventh
Marissa Butler would have a three up three down inning to secure the Tiger's win.
In the second game the Tigers would allow the Rangers to take a 1-0 lead in the second innings. The Tigers would respond in the top of the third as
Callie Jourdan would single home
Tori Herbert tying the game.
Halley Ryburn would single to center scoring
Leighton Withers giving the Tigers their first lead.
Madison Miller would then drive home Ryburn giving Ouachita a 3-1 advantage.
After Northwestern would come back to take a 4-3 lead the Tigers would respond as
Macy Wilson would send a sacrifice fly to left field scoring
Natalie Jackson. In the top of the seventh
Macy Wilson would do it again as she would single home
Brooke Taylor giving the Tigers a 5-4 win.
Leighton Withers would then draw a walk scoring
Natalie Jackson from third.
Mabry Smith would close out the game picking up her fourth win of the season.
The Tigers return to action Saturday March 23 to complete the series with Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma.
