ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baseball splits double header with Southeastern Oklahoma on a walk off hit in the second game.
Cade McBride, who was responsible for the walk-off, led the way for the Tigers on the day going 4-7.
Chris Willard also had a great day going 4-7 including a run batted in and the game winning score in the second game.
In the first game
Brandon Matros took the mound for the Tigers. He would pitch well going 6.1 innings only allowing four hits and one earned run. Matros would start the game by striking out five batters over the first two innings. In the bottom of the second the Tigers would load the bases after a
Bo Sutton single,
Pierce Mitchum walk and
Chris Willard being hit by a pitch. However, the Tigers could not push the runner across and would head to the top of the third tied 0-0.
The Savage Storm would strike first off of a solo homerun to start the third inning. In the bottom of the fourth the Tigers would answer back as they would start the inning on back to back singles by
Cade McBride and
Bo Sutton. Later in the inning
Bo Sutton would score the first run for Ouachita on an error by the third baseman. The Tigers would score again during the next batter on a passed ball. However, the Tigers would allow the Savage Storm to score three runs in both of the last two innings and would fall in the game 7-2.
The second game would be started by
Adam Bahloul who would go 5.2 innings allowing only three runs.
Noah Fowler would pick it up from there and go 2.1 innings only allowing one hit and capturing his third win of the season.
The Tigers would strike first in the game as
Louis Steen would blast a two run homerun to left center field in the bottom of the first innings. The Savage Storm would respond in the top of the second scoring two runs.
Ouachita would reclaim the lead in the bottom of the third as
Logan Huneycutt and
Tyler Riebock started the inning with singles.
Cade McBride would load the bases and a sacrifice fly by
Hunter Gautreaux would score a run. In the top of the sixth SEOSU would tie the game up again and with neither team able to score in regulation play the game would move into extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth inning
Chris Willard would lead off with a single for the Tigers.
Bo Sutton and
Logan Huneycutt would both reach on bunts loading the bases for Ouachita. After two consecutive outs, Cade McBRide would launch a shot to right center field that would fall and give the Tigers a 4-3 victory.
The Tigers will look to win the season series tomorrow as they face off with the Savage Storm at 1:00 PM at Rab Rodgers Field. Come out and support your Tigers Baseball Team.
