ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- Ouachita Baseball gets great effort from Tiger sophomores but fall in the end to Southern Arkansas 10-1.

Louis Steen led the Tigers going 1-3 hitting, a walk and a hit by a pitch on the day. He would also steal two bases allowing the Tigers to get into scoring position.
Hunter Gautreaux would go 1-4 on the day including securing the Tiger's only run batted in. He would also make his first appearance pitching for the Tigers putting in a scoreless inning for Ouachita.

The Tigers would start off the game with
Noah Fowler on the mound. He would surrender a leadoff hit, but would strikeout a batter, force a ground out and a pop out to end the inning.
Tyler Riebock in the bottom of the first would get a two out single up the middle, but he would be caught stealing shortly after as he over slid second base. In the top of the second Fowler would make quick work of the Muleriders seeing four batters and only allowing a hit.

In the bottom of the frame the Tigers would start off with
Cade McBride reaching first on a hit by batter.
Bo Sutton would put down a sacrifice bunt to advance McBride to second as he would then advance to third on a wild pitch.
Hunter Gautreaux would then loop a single over the second basemen's head to score McBride. Gautreaux would then steal his first base of the year and move to third on a
Logan Huneycutt ground out. However, he would be stranded at third and the Tigers would head to the third.

Ouachita would get a hit in the third from
Pierce Mitchum and a hit in the fourth from
Bo Sutton; however, neither hit would amount to a run. The Tigers would allow the Muleriders to score five runs over the time of the third and fourth.

In the fifth innings the Tigers would attempt to get something going with two outs as
Louis Steen would get hit by a pitch. After a stolen base by
Louis Steen,
Tyler Riebock would put two runners on with a walk. They would both steal a base with a ball low ball putting runners in scoring position. A ground out would end the inning, however, as the Tigers would trail 5-1. In the top of the sixth the Tigers would give up five runs and give SAU a 10-1 advantage.

The rest of the way the Tigers would pitch
Ben Miller and
Hunter Gautreaux who pitched lights out. Miller would go 2.1 innings only allowing two hits, a walk and no earned runs. Gautreaux would finish the game allowing one hit in an inning of work.
