ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baseball scored nine runs and take the Harding Bisons to extra innings but fall in the end on a score of 10-9.
Bo Sutton,
Hunter Gautreaux and
Tyler Riebock all put in multiple hits in and each drove in two runs for the Tigers. Riebock would go 2-4 from the plate scoring three times including a two run homerun to tie the game at 9.
Brandon Matros would start on the mound as the Tigers would throw the first pitch around 3:00 PM. The Bisons would use a single, walk and a triple to score two runs in the first inning. The Tigers would counter the Bisons as they would start off the bottom of the first with a single by
Aaron Studdard and
Tyler Riebock. After a passed ball,
Louis Steen would send a sacrifice fly to the right fielder to score Studdard, and
Hunter Gautreaux would ground out scoring Riebock.
The Tigers would allow the Bisons to send a homerun to centerfield and take the lead in the second. Harding would also get three more runs across in the top of the third to make their lead 6-2. The Tigers, however, would show their grit and determination.
Aaron Studdard would start things off with a single but would be out on a fielder's choice off a
Tyler Riebock ground ball. After Riebock stole second base,
Louis Steen would get hit by a pitch putting two runners on. An infield single by
Hunter Gautreaux would score Riebock on an errant throw by the pitcher.
Bo Sutton would then double to left center scoring two more and making the game's score 6-5.
In the bottom of the fourth the Tigers would use a walk by
Logan Huneycutt to tie the game as he would be hit home on a sacrifice fly by
Aaron Studdard. After a scoreless fifth inning the Bisons would put two runs across in the top of the sixth. In the bottom half of the innings
Ben Swanger would single home Collin McWhorter putting the Tigers down 8-7. Harding would add one more run in the top of the eight.
In the bottom half of the eighth inning, the Tigers would get on base after the catcher lost the ball during swinging strikeout of
Chris Willard. Willard would then be driven in on a blast to right field by
Tyler Riebock. In the bottom of the ninth the Tigers would have a chance to win it as they would put runners on first and second with no outs. Unfortunately, a double play and a strikeout would end the inning. The Bisons would put up a run in the top of the tenth inning and win with a final of 10-9.
