ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Tiger Volleyball lands two on the Reddie-Tiger Challenge All-Tournament Team.
Both of Ouachita's middle blockers,
Adrianna Nolly and
Emily Low, pick up the awards for the Tigers after having great weekends. Nolly during the opening weekend of action leading the Tigers in total kills with 55 on the weekend. She also was active on the defensive end blocking 13 shots, 4 solo and 9 assists.
Low, the 6-1 sophomore, put in a great start to her season as well. She would total 41 kills; her season high being 15 against Texas A&M Commerce helping the Tigers defeat the 20
th ranked team in the nation. During the battle against the Lions, Low would block eight attacks leading to her blocking 12 on the weekend.
"I am really impressed that Adri and Emily got all tournament team especially since both of them are middles. We have been working with our setters and middles on their connections all preseason. For them to both get recognized by the other coaches means our team is putting in the work necessary for us to be great," said Coach
Allison Frizzell-Kizer on the two Tigers being named to the All-Tournament Team.
Voting for the team is done by the coaches after each match. Following each game, the coach will nominate two players from the opposing team and two from their own. From that list the All-Tournament Team is formed. This Reddie-Tiger Challenge featured six schools: Ouachita Baptist University, Henderson State University, Texas A&M Commerce, St. Edwards University, Mississippi College and the University of Texas at Tyler.
Frizzell looking forward at these two's impact, "We are excited for the continual growth and leadership shown by Adri and Emily. We look for them to continue to lead us into next weekend's tournament in Huntsville."
The Tigers will travel this weekend to the Alabama Huntsville Tournament in Huntsville, Alabama. They will start the tournament on Friday, Sept. 13 at 9:00 a.m. against Mississippi College.
