The Tigers Win and Nolly Joins the 1,000 Kill Club

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Senior Adrianna Nolly highlights the day for the Tigers as she joins the 1,000 kills club. The Tigers would split the games on the day defeating Mississippi College in three sets but fell to Missouri S&T 3-2.
 
Nolly was three kills away going into the day from reaching the mark and she did so in the second set of the matchup against Mississippi College. On the day Adri totaled 25 kills, seven blocks and nine digs.
 
Setter Joni Schneider had double-doubles in both of the matches for the Tigers. In the first game Schneider put in 16 assists and 12 digs, and she tallied 13 assists and 14 digs in the second matchup.
 
In the first set of the Mississippi College match the Tigers came to play defensively. They only allowed the Choctaws to put in six kills while forcing six errors and winning the set 25-18. The Tigers found themselves tied at 19-19 in the second set before ending the set on a 6-2 run. Kills by Emily Low and Temi Fayiga closed out the match for the Tigers giving them a 2-0 lead.
 
The final set was a nail bitter with 10 lead changes throughout the set. The Tigers went down 15-14 but fought back with four straight points highlighted by kills from Abby Cagle and Emily Low. After Mississippi College tied the game at 25 all the Tigers went on a 3-1 run ending the match with a Tabatha Huckabee kill.
 
In the second game of the day the Tigers dropped the first set before Ouachita captured the second set. Ouachita ended the set on a 10-5 run tying the game at 1-1. Emily Low headlined the run with three kills helping the Tigers win the set.
 
Ouachita started the fourth set off with an 8-0 run as five different Tigers accounted for a kill. They would maintain the lead throughout the set winning with a score of 25-20 as the set ended on a Rileigh Fielder kill assisted by Temi Fayiga. In the fifth set the Tigers were defeated with a score of 15-7.
 
The Tigers are back in action tomorrow as they face off against the host University of Alabama at Huntsville and then close the tournament with Lynn University.
