ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Tiger Football uses 446 yards of offense and four touchdowns to defeat Northwestern Oklahoma State University 31-11 at Cliff Harris Stadium.
Quarterback
Brayden Brazeal led the Tigers with pin-point accuracy going 21 for 23 on the night for 199 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 31 yards and scored a one yard touchdown run.
TJ Cole put in a breakout night rushing for 101 yards on 12 attempts and scoring a 41 yard touchdown run with 2:52 left in the first half.
Brockton Brown continued his great season by carrying the rock 15 times for 80 yards and a touchdown. In his first game as a Tiger,
Darius Hopkins rushed 10 times for the Tigers accumulating 57 yards while also catching three passes for 11 yards.
Allie Freeman broke his season high in catches for Ouachita with 13 on the day for 118 yards and the first touchdown of the day. He also returned two kick offs on the day for 71 yards setting up the Tigers in great field position.
Hayden Waller was the next in line for the Tigers catching three passes for 46 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball
Austin Guymon led the team in tackles with 12 (6 solo, 6 assisted).
C.J. Heckard and
Keandre Evans were next in line for the Tigers with seven tackles each. Evans also played well in the secondary breaking up three of the Ranger passes.
Jon Johnson put in six tackles on the day and came up with a huge field goal block that he returned 13 yards setting up Cole's touchdown run.
Dameyun McDonald recorded four tackles in the game, two for a loss including a sack.
The Tigers came out swinging in the first quarter driving down the field 75 yards ending in an
Allie Freeman 26 yard touchdown catch. The rest of the first quarter consisted of two punts by Northwestern Oklahoma State and a fumble by the Tigers.
In the second the Tigers scored a one yard rushing touchdown by
Brockton Brown that was set up by a 15 play 85 yard drive. After Johnson blocked the Ranger field goal, Ouachita only needed four plays to score on Cole's 41 yard rush. The game entered half time with a score of 21-0.
The Rangers scored 11 points in the third quarter off of Ouachita turnovers, but
Gabe Goodman extended the Tiger lead to 24-11 with a 40 yard field goal. In the fourth quarter the Tigers took the ball away from the Rangers with a fumble recovery by
Anthony Freeman. Ouachita turned the turnover into points on an one yard touchdown run by Brazeal. With a 31-11 lead the Tigers ended the game by holding the Rangers on fourth down inside Ouachita's 20 yard line then running out the clock.

- Jake Ford did not have to attempt a punt in the game, but he helped the Tigers through kickoffs averaging 60.5 yards per attempt.
- Gabe Goodman connected on his longest field goal as a Tiger with his 40 yard field goal.
- The Tigers defense got after the Rangers with two sacks, three quarterback hurries and six pass breakups.
- Allie Freeman now has 31 catches through the first three games of the season.
- Brockton Brown ranks as one of the top scorers in the Great American Conference with four touchdowns on the season.
- Through three games Brayden Brazeal has a 190.63 passer rating connecting on 48 of his 57 passes for a 84.21% clip.
- The Tigers linebacker core has dominated so far as Guymon, Johnson and White lead the team in tackles with 64 combines tackles.
- Keandre Evans leads the secondary with two interceptions and four pass breakups.
