Monticello, Ark. – Despite the late fight, the Lady Tigers fell 69-59 on the road to Arkansas- Monticello.
Maija Gertstone led the Lady Tigers with 16 points. Eden Crow added 15 and Jakyya Clay contributed 10 off the bench.
Berniezha Tidwell led Monticello with 18 while Mekaylan Hicks scored 11.
The Lady Tigers fell behind early 11-2. It was a hole the Lady Tigers were never able to dig out of. Ouachita cut the lead to six with two minutes to play, but Monticello put an end to the run as they closed things out with a ten-point victory.
The Lady Tigers scored 13 points in each of the first three quarters. Ouachita's offensive footing was never established until the final frame.
Each time the Lady Tigers tried to capture momentum the Blossoms would quickly answer with a bucket. Monticello tallied 28 points off turnovers which, in the end, was a big difference in the ball game.
Ouachita fell to 4-12, 1-9 in conference play, while Arkansas- Monticello improved to 11-4, 6-4 in conference.
