SHAWNEE, Okla. – Despite the late rally, Ouachita Baptist dropped their seventh in a row to Oklahoma Baptist 72-65.

With five minutes to play the Lady Tigers took their first lead at 59-57 on a Maija Gertstone eight-foot floater in the paint. Ouachita's momentum did not last long, though, as the Bison finished the game on a 15-6 run to capture their first GAC victory.

For Ouachita, Maija Gertstone led all scorers with 25. Makayla Miller added 15.

McKenzie Cooper scored 21 for the Bison. Briana Marshall contributed 16.

Ouachita and Oklahoma Baptist began the game with different levels of intensity. The Bison started sharp and shot 70 percent from the field while the Lady Tigers shot a mere 18 percent.

The Lady Tigers started the second quarter on a 7-0 run capped by a Gertstone three-pointer. The run ended and the Bison came back to regain control as they went into halftime with an eight-point lead.

Ouachita cut the lead to three with under a minute to play in the third, but the Bison knocked in a three-pointer with seconds left to take a six-point lead into the final period.

The Lady Tigers fought back to take a late lead but was unable to hold on.

Ouachita fell to 4-15, 1-12 in conference play, while Oklahoma Baptist improved to 6-14, 1-12 in conference.
