ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist kept the rivalry game close in the first half, but Henderson State ran away with it in a 90-67 Lady Tiger loss.

The first half was close, but Henderson State exploded in the third quarter to take a 22-point lead into the fourth. Midway through the fourth, Ouachita fought back to cut the deficit down to 13, but that was as close as the Lady Tigers would get. With the win, Henderons solidified the season sweep against Ouachita.

Maija Gertsone led the Lady Tigers with 21 points. Eden Crow added 15 while Makayla Miller contributed 14.

Pink Jones led the Reddies with 20. Karrington Whaley had a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards.

The Lady Tigers brought the early energy in the rivalry matchup. Its aggressive offensive game plan drew ten free throw opportunities in the first quarter to Henderson's zero. Despite the disparity in the free throw numbers, Henderson took a 16-13 lead into the second quarter.

Early in the second quarter, Ouachita settled into the matchup, but too many turnovers resulted in a halftime deficit. The Lady Tiger's did not have its most explosive half, but its resolve kept Ouachita within seven at halftime.

The Reddies were hot to start the third quarter and took a 20-point lead five minutes in to the second half. Ouachita was unable to keep up with the Reddie's shooting and went into the final frame down 64-42.

The Reddies closed things out 90-67.

The Lady Tigers dropped to 4-19, 1-15 in conference play, while Henderson State improved to 16-7, 11-6 in conference.
