RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers (2-6) came up short to the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (3-6) in game one 8-4 and game two 2-0.
Game One
Beau Burson (1-0) made the start for game one of the conference opener. He received a no decision after throwing 5.2 innings of six-hit, two-run (one earned) baseball. He struck out one and walked two in his outing.
Carter Wade (1-1) received the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and a strikeout in an inning of work.
Cooper Timmons (0-0) earned a strikeout in relief for two-thirds of an inning before
Maddox Long (0-0) gave up a run on two hits and a walk in his two-thirds of an inning.
The Tiger offense struck first, adding a single run in the first and fifth innings. In the first inning,
Blake Tubbs hit a two-out RBI single to center field to plate
Logan Huneycutt for the first run. The second Ouachita run came on an RBI double from Huneycutt to score
Pierce Mitchum.
The Tigers added two more runs in the top of the ninth inning on a
Hunter Gautreaux two-run homerun, which also scored
Matt Bryant.

Game Two
Brandon Matros (0-3) made his third start of the 2020 season and had his best outing. He was charged the loss after throwing six innings of four-hit, two-run baseball. The two runs that were given up came in the first inning off of an Evan Hafley homerun.
The Tiger offense was held scoreless for the first time this season.
Beau Burson had two of the three hits for the Tigers, while
CW Schrader had the other. The Tigers would load the bases with one out in the top of the ninth inning, but unfortunately could not push across any runs.

- Brandon Matros held Tech to two runs on four hits.
