MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers fell on the road to the Southern Arkansas Muleriders 82-52.
The Tigers were not able to get their offense going in the first half and SAU pulled away in the second to capture the 30-point victory.
Trey Harris led the Tigers with 15 points.
Lucas Aaron led the Muleriders with 20 while Jalen Brooks added 14.
In the first seven minutes the Tigers established a 7-6 lead, but the lead quickly evaporated. SAU knocked down two straight three-pointers with about ten to play till half and all the momentum shifted the Muleriders way.
Southern Arkansas took a 32-17 lead into halftime.
The Tigers played better offense in the second half, but they could not catch up with SAU. Ouachita increased their field goal percentage by 18 percent in the second half, compared to the first, but it was not enough.
In the end, the Muleriders offense was too much as it pulled away down the stretch.
The Tigers will look to regroup and make a run at the conference tournament in the final two weeks of the regular season.
Ouachita fell to 10-13, 7-11 in conference play while Southern Arkansas improved to 11-13, 8-10 in conference.
