SAN ANGELO, Texas – Madison Miller led the Ouachita Baptist Tigers to take down the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls 8-2.

Nicole Arreola started for the Tigers and went a third of inning and gave up four runs, two earned, on four hits.

Madison Miller came in to relieve Arreola and finished the final 6.2 innings. She didn't allow a run and gave up just three hits.

Miller's day was just as stellar from the plate. She went 2-3 with a homerun, a double and three RBIs.

Heather Brown and Sloane Precure both joined the multi-hit club with two hits of their own. Callie Jourdan recorded two RBIs.

The Tigers drew first blood to take a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first, but the Cowgirls answered with four runs in the bottom half.

Come the fourth inning, though, the Tiger's offense broke through. Miller doubled to left to score Precure to make it 4-2. Jillian Jones reached on an error and Miller scored to make the game 4-3.

Finally, Jourdan singled to right to plate Sarah Tuller and Rebecca Holiman to give Ouachita a 5-4 advantage.

Madison Miller's two-run homer in the fifth and a Tobi Finley RBI in the sixth were three insurance runs to seal the deal.

Ouachita Baptist improved to 2-6, while New Mexico Highlands dropped to 1-8.

The Tiger's begin GAC play this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21 and 22, as they travel to Monticello to take on the University of Arkansas- Monticello. Friday's doubleheader will begin at 1 pm. Saturday's doubleheader starts at noon.
