ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Baptist University Tigers (1-3) battled hard in a 5-1 loss to the University of Central Oklahoma (3-1).
Brandon Matros (0-2) made his second start for the Tigers and was charged with the loss. He threw six innings of four-hit, three-run baseball, and struck out five batters.
Carter Wade (1-0) relieved Matros for the seventh and eighth innings, allowing two hits and two runs. Freshman
Cooper Timmons (0-0) made his first appearance of his collegiate career. He gave up one hit and recorded a strikeout in the four batters he faced.
The Tiger offense came to life and outhit the Bronchos 9-7, but only scored one run in the game. Senior
Logan Huneycutt hit a leadoff triple in the bottom of the first inning, before he scored on a wild pitch for the Tiger's lone run in the game.
