Tigers Fight Hard in 11-4 Loss to UAM

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers (4-5 GAC, 8-10 Overall) lost 4-11 to the University of Arkansas at Monticello (5-4 GAC, 8-9 Overall).

Ouachita Pitching
 
The Tigers saw six pitchers on the mound, four of which were freshman. Cooper Timmons (1-0) made the start for the Tigers and tossed two innings of shutout baseball. He allowed two hits, one walk, and earned two strikeouts. Maddox Long (0-1) was charged with the loss for the Tigers. He threw two-thirds of an inning with four runs given up on two hits, four walks, and a strikeout. Sheldon McCown (0-0) relieved Long for 1.2 innings of work. He allowed five runs on five hits, two walks, and two strikeouts. Caleb Donoho (0-0) made his first appearance as a Tiger and threw 1.2 innings of four-run, two-hit, and one-walk baseball. Matt Bryant (0-0) was perfect in his inning and Logan Huneycutt (0-1) closed out the top of the ninth inning with only a walk and a strikeout.
 
Ouachita Hitting
 
The Tigers were unable to score until the sixth inning. Trailing 9-0, Beau Burson reached on a fielder's choice to the shortstop that scored CW Schrader for the first Tiger run in the game. A moment later, the Tigers added a second run on a wild pitch that scored Blake Tubbs.
 
In the seventh inning, Tubbs would double to left center to score Schrader and Simmons Sowell for the final two Tiger runs.

The Tigers will travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma, for a three-game series against Oklahoma Baptist University on Friday and Saturday. The game on Friday is set for 2:00 p.m. and Saturday holds a double-header with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m.
