DURANT, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team started its weekend trip to Oklahoma with a four-set loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday.
Final game scores were 14-25, 25-23, 17-25, and 20-25.
Senior
Emily Low led the Tigers (7-14, 2-6 GAC) in the loss with 14 kills and seven total blocks.
EJ Day added nine kills and 13 digs.
Kellen Church had 26 assists.
Lexie Castillow led the back-row defense with 26 digs.
In the first set, Ouachita jumped out to an early lead, but with the score tied at 12-all, Southeastern (7-9, 4-4 GAC) went on a 9-0 run to win the first set.
The Tigers responded by winning the second set to equalize the match, highlighted by a 7-0 run. Day had the final two kills in the second set.
Ouachita was its own worst enemy in the third set with more errors than kills. The Savage Storm closed out the set on a 5-0 run.
Both teams had big runs in the fourth set, but it was Southeastern with the ball last, scoring on five of the last six rallies.
The Tigers take the short trip to Ada, Oklahoma to face off against East Central on Saturday. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
